Iron Fist is a fine, if unremarkable +damage perk. Role-play is their only home and even then they are fairly useless. Using them gives your character absolutely no benefit or can actively harm them, especially when SPECIAL is taken into consideration. Most only escape F-tier because they do give a definite bonus, but compared to most perks they are not worth taking.į: Useless perks. There could be some really good perks here, but their use is limited to a handful of encounters in the game.ĭ: Barely usable perks. This is the perks that are generally average but could be good.Ĭ: The flipside of B-tier perks – alright perks but their potential is limited to average. Most characters will have a decent number of A-tier perks alongside their S-tier perks, but not all of them will be essential.ī: Incredibly strong in niche situations, middling in most. S: Incredibly strong perks that will find their way onto almost every character sooner rather than later.Ī: Strong perks for certain characters, though not as useful in every situation. The tier ratings generally mean the following things: Furthermore, if the second or third ranks help a lot but are locked at higher levels, this will count against the perk. Other perks in a tree will also impact this – if the Luck 9 and Charisma 9 perks are equal in power, but the other perks in the Luck tree are also worth taking, this will be rated higher as it is a perk that is easier to incorporate into your build. For example, if the Luck 1 perk and the Charisma 10 perk are equal in power, the Luck 1 perk will be rated higher, purely because the SPECIAL investment is far lower. ![]() Some further qualifiers include the SPECIAL requirement and level requirement. ![]() If the ranks are wildly different, it may be an average or a best rank score, depending on how good the rank is. In general, it will take into account all ranks of the perk compared to other perks in both normal and survival modes. The first thing to do is to determine a rubric – how I will be rating the perks.
